Welcome to another review.
Today we’ll talk about the social network VKontakte, and whether it’s possible to get into contact without entering a username and password. But before I answer your questions, let me introduce you to my VKontakte page and invite you to become a friend. My name is Denis Povaga. I run this blog and am currently scribbling this article.
I’ll say right away that the article is for novice users. But if you are faced with a difficult situation, I have solutions in my arsenal. Just ask below.

Option 1: Use a browser
If you've forgotten or lost your password, first contact your browser for help!
Most likely, your browser “remembered” your password because in most cases it has a convenient feature selected that saves information for login forms. This allows you to log into a social network at any time, and very quickly.
But you shouldn’t always rely on saving your password in your browser! Otherwise, sooner or later you will still have to contact VK support and reset your password, since the data saved in the browser is periodically erased. This can happen after you have cleared the cache or cookies, after scanning your device with an antivirus, or after reinstalling the operating system of your computer or laptop.
To prevent this from happening, write down important information in a notepad! Yes, this may seem like an ancient method, but believe me, it is reliable. Another good way would be to store passwords in a special password-protected phone application; such applications encrypt information, so it is secure!
Other contextual navigation block options
After logging into the VKontakte ru network, login my page, on the left, in front of you there will be a menu with sections that you can click on and immediately go to them. These are the following sections:
- My page. When you click on this offer, you can update the information on your page.
- Video recordings. Here you have the opportunity to add a new video that you liked, or view a video you previously added. Like photos and videos, you can comment on them, share them, or tag the people who are present in them. If you liked the video, you can like it.
- There is another very interesting section in the menu - news. Here you can find out a lot of interesting things. Thanks to this option, you can find out the latest news from the lives of those people who have been added to your friends. This is also how added photos are displayed. If you have joined any groups, then the latest posts from them will also be visible here.
- For many, the most interesting option of this social network is the “messages” section. Here you can both send and receive notifications from other users. In the field you can enter not only regular text, but also send photos, images or songs. Many users register and create their own account just for this option.
- You can choose what you like and join various groups. If you select “join the group”, you can see the entire update in your news. There is a list of groups you might like in the sidebar. They are selected based on information about your place of residence and interests.
Even when you log in to vkontakte ru, you will be able to add documents that you need to save. So, when you add them to the “documents” section, they will be saved on your page.
You can also choose games that you like and add them to your page. Recently, another option was added - “products”.
In this section, you can make a variety of purchases without leaving your home, and even more so, without leaving your favorite social network. Here you can also find a list of products and services that have been added by your friends.
The VKontakte administration is making constant changes to make using the page more convenient.
Option 2: if there is no password, but you have a login and phone number
So, you do not have a password for the VKontakte page. Here's what you need to do to solve the problem:
1. Go to the VK main page.
2. On the bottom right side you will see a link “Forgot your password?”. You need to click on it, and then in the window that opens, enter the numbers of your phone number linked to the page, or the email address you specified when registering on the social network, or your login (if you remember it).
3. After completing the steps described in the second paragraph, click “Next”.
4. In the window that opens, you must enter your last name (the one you specified in your profile), and then click “Next.”
5. At this stage, the system will provide you with data that should match your personal information. If you see that everything is correct, click “Yes, this is the right page.”
6. Wait a little - you will receive an SMS with a code. Keep in mind that the information will be sent to exactly the number you provided during registration! You must enter the received code into the form that opens on the page and click on the “Change password” link.
7. Create a new, complex password and enter it into the form.
8. At the final stage, you will receive another SMS message, which will be sent to the phone number specified during registration. It will contain all the necessary login information. Save it!
If you did everything correctly, you will easily get to your page.
Basic user information
This is a rather interesting item that the contact my page menu offers.
Here you can write down your date of birth, place of birth, city of residence, place of study, and you can also tell your friends about your interests.
It is from this data that people who go to this section on your page will be able to find out what books you have read, what films you have watched, what music you like to listen to and much other information.
At the end of such a block there is space to write a little about yourself. This could be a short description of your hobby, your thoughts, or some quote you like.
There is another option that allows other users to find out more information about you, study your morals and inner world.
This is a broadcast of the music you are currently listening to on your page.
This function is very convenient in that other users will be able to listen to the same music; to do this, you need to go to my contact page, enter my page and at the top, where there is information about the song, select “connect”.
Option 3: if you don’t have a password, login or phone number
If it happens that you have neither a password nor a login, and access to your phone is temporarily unavailable, then this method is just for you!
Here's what to do:
1. Open the main page of the VK social network.
2. Select “Forgot your password?”.
3. At the very bottom of the form you will see the inscription “If you do not remember the data or do not have access to the phone, click here.” Click on this link!
4. Enter the link to your page into the form, if you remember it, and click the “Next” button. If there is no data, then click on the link below, as shown in the figure.
5. Enter all the required information in detail in the form that opens.
6. If you don’t even remember your old password, then you need to use the extended recovery application. Enter as much detail as possible.
7. At the final stage, you will need two personal photos. The first photo should clearly show your identity document, and the second photo should show you against the background of an open VK page. All this is necessary so that the administration of the social network is sure that access to the page is restored by the owner, and not by the attacker.
Once you upload the correct images, your application will be reviewed. Keep in mind that this will take time (from several hours to several days). If you send only one of the two required images or attach someone else’s photo, the administration of the social network will write to you that the data was not accepted. The application will be rejected without consideration!
But if you did everything correctly, you will soon be able to access your personal page.
User avatar
If you need to find someone from your family or friends using V.VK, the easiest way to do this is by entering the first and last name in the search bar.
All the people you may know who bear this first and last name will appear before you.
In order to select the right person, you can look at the user’s avatar - this is the main photo. It happens that people post photos that are not their own, then finding them becomes a very difficult task.
Many users take a virtual photo. These are probably the names of the option that can most often be edited.
In order to change your photo, you need to go to vk my page, then select the “change thumbnail” function and select and install the appropriate photo.
If the photo is already set, you can change the area of the photo that will be visible. To do this, click on the “change thumbnail” prompt.
Option 4: via phone
Do you want to get back to the “My VKontakte Page” tab, but have forgotten your login and password? We hope that you still have a phone, because this simple method will tell you how to get to your personal page using a mobile device.
Having a smartphone at hand, you don’t have to worry about forgetting your data. The sequence of actions to solve the problem is as follows:
1. Go to the VK main page from your phone, and then click on the “Forgot your password” link.
2. Enter your email or phone number in the field on the tab that opens.
3. Follow the “Next” link, and then, for security purposes, enter the last name that is indicated in the page profile.
4. Click “Continue” if you recognize your page as proposed.
5. Wait for the SMS message. It will be sent to the phone number associated with your profile and will contain a verification code. Enter the verification code and click Continue.
6. You will be asked to come up with a new password, create it and enter it in the appropriate field.
9. After clicking on the “Change password” button, you will see the long-awaited news feed of your page

There are a couple more questions that plague VKontakte users who have lost their personal data:

- Can an attacker access my page if I have forgotten my username and password and are temporarily not using it?
The administration of the social network made every effort to prevent this from happening. As you can see, if you have lost your login and password, you can restore the data, but an attacker will not be able to get to your page without a login and password!

An equally interesting section that can be found on the VKontakte website when entering my page.
In this menu you can see all those people whom you have added to your friends by confirming the request from them. You can also send someone a request to be added.
To do this, when entering another user’s page, you must select “add as friend.” If the request is approved, then after some time this person will appear on your friends list.
There is another interesting option here. You will be able to see a list of so-called potential friends - those people who have common acquaintances with you.
Wall of Records
Often, when you enter a user’s page, you can find out a lot of information about him.
You can guess his mood and see what such a person likes. You can even predict the character. To do this, you just need to go to the “my page” of this user and carefully read all the posts on his wall. Usually, people share those quotes that are close to them in spirit.
Often users post their photos on the wall so that other people can see and appreciate them. Your friends there can leave you different messages, pictures, videos, or songs.
Usually, users thus congratulate one another on their birthday. This is very interesting, because such posts can be seen by all the people who have been added to your friends.
If you do not want other users to leave you a notification or notes there, then you can select a function in the settings according to which only you can write something on your wall.
