There is no magic button that will easily and simply restore a deleted photo or VKontakte ava. More precisely, when you delete a photo, a “Recover” link appears in case the photo was deleted by mistake. But if you have already left there, read this instruction to the end.

Deleted photos disappear from your page, but remain on VKontakte servers. This does not mean that it will be easier to recover a deleted photo (or avatar), and especially does not mean that anyone can look at your deleted photos. A copy of the page in the Google search engine

If your page was open to everyone (or the album with the photo you were looking for was not closed), then the deleted photo could be saved in Google. From time to time, Google makes copies of all pages on the Internet and stores them for a while. This is called "in cache". There is a chance of recovery if not much time has passed since the deletion (no more than a week). But even if the photo remains there, most often it is possible to restore only the miniature (photo in a small size).

Check if your page is still in the Google cache - enter the address of your VKontakte page in the search bar (below) - for example, https://vk.com/id126494354 . The easiest way is to open your VKontakte page and copy the address here from the address bar of your browser.

Finding a saved copy of the VK page

Then click “Find”, a new page with search results will open. If you find something, open your saved page:

Click on the small green triangle next to the page address.
Select "Saved Copy".

Now the saved copy of your page will open. If there is a photo there that you want to restore, open it and save it somewhere to yourself (usually you need to right-click on the photo and select “Save image as.”).

If there is no green triangle at all, then there is no copy of the page in Google, and this method will not work.

Looking at the saved copy of the page

There is no guarantee that the desired photo is in the browser cache. It is worth looking at the saved copy of the page in search engines. This is done as follows (see).

First, copy the id of your page (see).

Now open Yandex or Google and write the following search query.

User_id site:vk.com

Where instead of “user_id”, insert your id. Perform a search. Your page should appear in the list of results.

Next to the URL address, open the menu and click (see).

You will see a saved copy of your page. Try looking at the photo you want here.

If it is not there, then it is unlikely that you will be able to find it. You can try it.

Browsing history or browser cache is a chance!

If you recently looked at this photo in full size, then it could remain in your browsing history or in the cache (temporary files) of your browser - the program with which you view websites. This is one of the real chances. And if you opened the photo using the “Open original” button, then maybe you can even find a link to the VK website where this photo is still stored.

How to find a deleted photo in your browser history

Typically, the browsing history in the browser can be viewed using the Ctrl-H or called up through the menu. It is especially useful to search there if you have recently opened a photo using the “Open original” link.

How to find a deleted photo in temporary files

You will need a program to view the cache. There are different programs for different browsers, download and run the one that is designed specifically for yours (Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer). If you're not very good with computers, it's time to stop touching anything and call a boy who is good at it to continue from there.

A page with programs for viewing the cache of various browsers: Web Browser Tools. Download the program for the browser used on this computer. Run it and look in the cache for image files (.jpg) of a sufficiently large size - among them may be the same deleted photo.

“Pulling” deleted VK photos from the browser cache

If none of the above options gave positive results, it’s okay, don’t be upset. After all, there is another way that allows you to view deleted photos on VKontakte. Moreover, you can even save them to your computer.

Any photo you previously opened is stored in browser files. It follows from this that if you previously opened and viewed some photos in your browser, you can not only find them to look at, but also download them to your computer.

Download and unzip the “Web Browser Tools” software package.

Open the unzipped folder and find the .exe file of your browser cache in it (Google Chrome is used as an example).

In just a moment, a program will open with a general list of all temporary files stored on your PC. Their number is indicated in the lower left corner.

To quickly find the necessary data (in our case, this is a photo), it is recommended to pay attention to the file icon, as well as the date and time. This is perhaps the fastest way to find the photo you need.

Just remember the date and at least the approximate time when you opened this or that photo and start checking.

Unfortunately, there is no preview in this program. This means that you will have to check all the photos manually. Double click on the image title or URL.

After this, a small window will open with various information. We are directly interested in the address of the image; copy the address and paste it into the browser.

Immediately after removal

Now go to a new GoogleChrome tab.

If Google has not saved a copy of your VKontakte page, then try to find deleted photos in the cache of the browser you used to log into your VK account. Any photo you open is saved in temporary files of the web browser, so if you looked at the photos in VKontakte, you can restore them through a program for viewing the browser cache.

To restore a photo deleted from a page in Contact, right-click on it. You can open the photo in the browser by selecting “Open Link”, or save the image directly to your computer by clicking “Cope Selected” and specifying a folder.

Deleting photos from VKontakte is not difficult - all it takes is a few clicks of the mouse. Is it possible to restore these images and if so, how to do it?

The easiest way to restore a photo is if you did not have time to refresh the page. See: after you click on the “Delete” button, the system tells you that the image has been deleted. But! You can still restore it if you click on the button of the same name:

If the browser cache method does not work, you will need to try using a cached version of the page in the browser. This method only works if your page is cached in the browser and if you have photos open.

To do this, go to Google and write the address of your page in the search bar - vk.com/your id. For example, vk.com/id1. Next, click on the arrow, as shown in the screenshot, and select “Saved copy”.

On the cached page you will see saved photos that you deleted.

The browser can also store your deleted photos in its memory for some time. It will be easy to find an image that you recently opened in full screen or in a separate tab.

Returning deleted photos on VKontakte page

Many VKontakte users store photos only in profile albums, without having backup copies of the files on their computer, so deleting pictures often leads to the complete loss of valuable frames. But even if you deleted a photo on VKontakte, you can try to restore it.

Fast recovery

Immediately after deleting a photo, a “Restore” button appears above it, clicking on which returns the photo back to the page in Contact.

It’s also not possible to find and restore a VK album this way: you can only find individual photos. Therefore, when deleting an album on VKontakte, think carefully about whether you will later regret this decision. It is advisable to save the necessary photographs and pictures separately, so that after deletion you can quickly return them to the VKontakte page if necessary.

Instructions

If you mistakenly deleted an album from your VKontakte account and immediately noticed, this can be easily fixed. When deleting a photo or an entire album, the line “Photos deleted. Restore".

Left-click on the “Recover” option once, and the deleted photos from the album will again appear in their place and become available for viewing. All comments and other marks will also remain. But if you immediately leave the “Edit Album” page after deleting, then it will no longer be possible to recover the deleted photos.

If suddenly there are some photos in the album and only empty images remain, it becomes impossible to view them, comment on them or tag people, leave a complaint written in a certain form. There is an opinion that all the albums you delete are still saved on the site’s server. Try writing a letter to technical support. They may be able to find, view and return the album to you. If you have written down direct links to photos, this will make the task much easier and they will soon be available to you.

Open Google and enter in the search bar the last name and first name under which your VKontakte page is registered. You can try specifying the profile address (its ID number).

The hardest thing is to find your page among the search results. But if you are lucky and you find it, then click on the green arrow next to the address and select “Saved copy”.

This will open the page that Google automatically saved. You can't select a backup date - you can only hope that you deleted the photos after the backup was created.

You need to search for large images - not an easy task, given the number of different images that are stored in the cache when visiting sites.

What cannot be restored

Unfortunately, in some cases, image recovery is not possible. Read the list below and if you find your case there, then don’t waste your time:

If your account has been closed, you will not be able to restore your photo using a page backup.
The situation is the same with closed albums, so, for example, it will not be possible to restore the “Saved Photos” album in VK. After all, this album is hidden by default, unless you change your privacy settings.
You cannot restore the entire album, only individual photos.
If you manage to find a deleted photo, then you can forget about the likes you collected under it - they cannot be restored.
