Not all VK users visit their page every day; Moreover, many people almost forget about having an account. To change your password via the desktop version of the social network, follow the following instructions:
- Log in to VKontakte – https://vk.com/login.
- In the right corner, click on your photo thumbnail. As a result, a drop-down menu will appear.
- Click the “Settings” item.
- Find the "Password" section. Click on the “Change” button.
- A window will appear where you enter the old combination, then enter the new one twice.
- Click "Edit" to save the changes.
Note: A strong password must consist of letters and numbers. Do not include your phone number, name, date of birth, or other information that everyone knows.

Changing your VK password from your phone is very simple using the following instructions:
- Go to the official social network application on your phone.
- In the upper right corner, click on the gear icon to get to the settings section.
- Open the “Account” subsection.
- In the “Information” subsection, find “Edit”.

But a problem may arise in the mobile application: VK does not allow you to submit an application if the data is not specified, and if you specify a password or number, it gives an error that the data was entered incorrectly. How to restore access to a page if you don’t have access to your mobile phone

2. After you have entered your contact page, go to the “My Settings” menu on the left.

On the first “General” , scroll down the page until you see the item “Change password” .
To change your contact password, enter your old password and enter your new password twice.
- Make sure the CAPS-Lock button is not enabled
- The password must be at least 6 characters long

You may see the message:

Do not use a password that is too simple or short, otherwise you will receive a message like this:
The password has not been changed because the new password is shorter than six characters, consists only of numbers, or contains invalid characters.
Use both letters and numbers in your new password. You can come up with a complex password, but one that will be easy for you to remember, for example: tereno26 , kovan376 ,
hd78vktv , etc. Do not use your date of birth, your first name, last name or nickname in the password.
If you do everything correctly, you will see a message:
The password has been successfully changed.

Why do you need to change your password?
